Kitchen Reno Befores

Here are the befores of our kitchen.  The house is about 12 years old and ready for an update!  The white appliances are starting to slowly fall apart and the countertops are ready for an upgrade.  We already added the pendant lights over the island.

We have already replaced 3 of the 4 appliances and the stove is on its way!  So next week we'll have all stainless steel appliances.  We got an awesome deal on them and that allowed us to do this ealier than planned!  We spent some time at US Marble and Granite today and picked out the rest of our kitchen.

Here is a cabinet drawer and the accent tile with the granite slab we chose.  Isn't it gorgeous!!!!
This one shows our floor tile also.
This is the main tile for the backsplash.  It is tumbled travertine that has some light browns and grays that really go well with the stainless and the granite.  We are doing 3x3 accents in the brown glass tiles throughout the backsplash.
The tile backspalsh and our faucet (minue the stripe)
 The undermount sink.
Travertine and accent tiles with the faucet.
 Our slab!!

I'll post pictures once its complete!  The granite only takes about 2 weeks so we're hoping to have everything in place before we go on vacation the end of next month.  We're so excited to see it all finished!  We really feel like this will add alot of value to our house and that this will make for a much quicker sale of our home once we decide to do so!  And of course this will allow us to enjoy it for a few years too :)

Pizza and cup cakes

Tori has been my big helper lately!  We can ask her to throw something away and she will run into the kitchen, open the garbage by herself, throw it in, and run back laughing!  She also loves to help me cook, especially with sirring.  We made cup cakes and pizza a few nights ago and Tori did a great job helping!  I had to really limit how much she helped with the cup cakes because she wanted to eat everything (especially the sprinkles).  But with the pizza she helped spred the sauce, sprinkle the cheese, and put on the peperoni!  And of course the best part, helping eat it all!!

My Little Angel

I know I am not living up to my promise to post once a week!  I am now working every other weekend again, which is pretty much horrible after only working every 4th weekend.  Brian works M-F all mornings so my schedule of a few nights a week and every other weekend means I don't get to see him very much and we don't get to do as many things as a family.  We also still have music class every Thursday so thats 3 nights that we're busy, plus getting groceries another night, yatta yatta yatta.  Tori has also been feeling under the weather for about a week now.  She's not really really sick, but just sick enough to be grumpy, clingy, and not sleep well.  So the moral of the story is Im low on cute new pictures to post.  Here's one just messing around with my new background.  We're hoping to go out of town this weeked for some family fun so hopefully Ill have some new pictures to post soon! :)

Great Grandma sharing her candy

The Simpson Christmas was postponed because Brian's mom Pam was sick with the flu-bug.  We had a great time but my camera was set on manual focus and we didn't realize it until everything was almost over.  Sorry about the blurry photos!
A couple of shots of Tori playing with her toys.  There were soooo many wonderful gifts, too many to show all of them.  But I promise you, she is playing with and loves them all!

Thank you so much to everyone who goes through so much work each year to make Christmas special! And of course, we must remember the reason for the season, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Next year we're going to have a birthday cake for baby Jesus to help Tori understand why we celebrate.  There is nothing like this holiday, the fun times, family, giving, and cherishing time together.
  Merry Christmas!!
