Nine Month Old

My beautiful baby girl is already nine months old! She is such a joy, always smiling and giggling. She "talks" constantly, her main "words" are dada and baba. She looks at the dogs and says da :) She is such a great eater, she will eat anything we give her including broccoli, asparagus and salad. Her pediatrician says she's doing great. She is 27 1/2 inches tall and 17 pounds 9 ounces. She pulls up on everything and crawls all over the house. She can even open the baby gate if its not securely locked. She still loves to be held and cuddled, she pulls up on my legs and fusses until I pick her up. She is non-stop, she won't even slow down to let us change her diaper! We're getting good at diapering her as she's crawling away! She loves being outside and is just so curious about everything around her. We just love her so much!

Can't believe it!!

We can't believe what happened tonight. We spent all day shopping and Tori did very well but was getting sick of being in a stroller or car seat most of the day so we came home and had her crawling all over the living room to burn some energy before dinner. She's been cruising the furniture for a few weeks now and she was walking up and down the ottoman. Brian and I were sitting on the couch and she just let go of the ottoman and took about 4 steps to us!!!!!!!!!! We got the video camera out immediately and caught the rest on video. We have been saying for a while now that we thought she may start walking by the time we go to Texas to visit family next month but we had no idea it would be this quick! Now that she's not afraid to let go I'm sure it won't be long until she's running around! I still can't believe that our baby girl just took her first steps!!

Adventures at the Dinner Table

Tori is learning how to feed herself. Its so much fun to watch her experiment, but it sure is a messy process! She loves to eat graham crackers and Ritz crackers because she can hold them herself and munch on them. We're also working on learning to eat from a bowl... or at least we're trying to :) Peas, small pieces of bread, and stove top are all winners as far a squishability and dinner time fun.

Tori and I went out to dinner with Nana last night, we went to the Thai Kitchen and let Miss Tori try her first Thai food. She LOVED it! I fed her dinner before we went because I didn't think she would like all the spices but she slerped down noodles with the best of them and smacking the table (her way of saying "feed me") for more! I took a cute video on my phone but Im still trying to figure out how to get it onto the computer.

Puppy Love

Tori and Daisy are playing together! When we first brought Tori home our dog Daisy didn't want anything to do with her, in fact she wouldn't even be near her. The older pug Jordan has loved her from the begining but now Daisy is getting in on the action. If you listen closely you can hear Tori giggling the whole time :) She loves the dogs and LOVES that Daisy plays with her now.

Clapping and giving high-fives

Tori started clapping randomly the other day, so of course we made a big fuss and now she claps all the time :) Brian's also working in teaching her high-fives. Here's a cute video of our happy girl.

~Happy Easter~

We celebrated Easter today since I have to work next weekend. Brian got up early and hid eggs for Tori to find :) We came downstairs to a little surprise Easter egg hunt! Tori found her first Easter egg!! She's been very grabby lately so the hunt was perfect!! She did great getting all the eggs, as soon as she saw one she would go for it.This basket is still empty! There's still more eggs to find!Found egg number 2! This one was a little difficult for Tori to get but after a few minutes of trying she finally got it!She's doing so great pulling up and standing, she even started letting go for a few seconds at a time yesterday!!! She looks around so proud standing by herself then after a few seconds she starts to panic and look for something to grab, its so cute to watch her.Found another egg!! After a little nap and an outfit change the hunt was back on!After the hunt she got her basket full of toys :)Then we spent the rest of the day playing with bunnies and plastic eggs.

8 months old

Tori has changed SO much in the past few months. Since January she has cut 6 teeth, had 2 ear infections, thrush, roseola, and is just getting over a nasty little cold. Sleep has been a commodity lately but we're finally back on schedule, now if we can just stay healthy for a little bit. Tori is crawling all over the place, she loves to chase the dogs, dump over buckets of toys, and play in the dog bowls. She's pulling up on everything she can reach, especially her toy table. We're having trouble giving her baths right now because she keeps trying to pull herself up on the side of the tub and gets upset when she slips back into the water. She still loves to eat, and she's doing really well eating big girl foods. She gets upset if you eat something and don't share with her :) She is already in love with shoes (we're so in trouble!). She will crawl down the hallway if she sees a pair on shoes on the floor to play with them and into my closet to pull all my shoes off of the shoe racks. As you can see from the above picture one of the pugs (Jordan) loves Tori and is always right next to her, the other pug (Daisy) is a little less in love with Tori but they get along. Tori loves watching them play and giggles at them constatly. It won't be long before she's running after them and drving them crazy!
